2. Elev-spørgsmål om Mandela og hans indsættelsestale i 1994

Hej, jeg går i 3.g og skal til at skrive en opgave om Nelson Mandela og apartheid.

Jeg har læst på en hjemmeside, at Nelson Mandela skulle have holdt til en tale ved sin indsættelse, som præsident i '94. Jeg ved, at den hedder "The healing light institute of spirituality" eller "Our greatest fear". Angiveligt skulle en Marianne Williamson have skrevet denne tale, som Nelson M. så har brugt.

Men jeg skal bruge nogle kilder, før jeg må gøre brug af det. Har I evt. hørt om den tale? Og har I evt. den liggende på engelsk, eller en hjemmeside, hvor den står skrevet?

Med sikkerhed ved jeg, at han har holdt den ved sin indsættelse som præsident. Jeg vil super gerne gøre brug af denne tale! Den lyder således i starten ved jeg: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us"

Nelson Mandelas tale ved insættelsen i 1994 findes på

Angående forfatteren til talen den 9 maj, Marianne Williamson, - hun har skrevet et kort afsnit af en tale Mandela holdt, men ikke hele talen.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
